  • If you don’t care for a filmmaker’s vision of things - - show us yours, and get as many people to be as compelled by it. That's how it is supposed to work. At its best, the freedom to do so is what the stars and stripes are meant to represent. Provided of course, that we who enjoy that freedom have the courage to imbue our national symbols with a meaning that transcends the foibles of evil men. - Eric Matthew Davis

    "Nuestro sol se oculto
    Nuestro sol desapareció su
    rostro Y en completa
    oscuridad nos ha dejado
    Pero sabemos que otra vez
    volverá Que otra vez saldrá
    Y nuevamente nos
    alumbrará Pero mientras
allá esté y la mansión del
    silencio permanezca Muy
    prontamente reunámonos y
    estrechémonos Y en el
    centro de nuestro ser
    ocultemos Todo lo que
    nuestro corazón ama Y que
    sabemos que es gran
    tesoro Destruyamos
    nuestros recintos
    al principio creador Nuestras
    escuelas nuestros campos
    de pelota Nuestros recitos
    para la juventud Nuestras
casas para el canto y el
    juego Que nuestros
    caminos queden
    abandonado Y que
    nuestros hogares nos
    resguarden Hasta cuando
    salga nuestro nuevo sol Los
    papacitos y las mamacitas
    Que nunca olviden guiar a
    sus jóvenes Y hacer saber
    a sus hijos mientras vivan
    Cuan buena ha sido Hasta
    ahora nuestra amada
    madre tierra Anahuac Al
    amparo y protección de
    nuestro destino por nuestro
    gran respeto y buen
    comportamiento
    Confirmados por nuestros
    antepasados Y que
    nuestros papacitos muy
    animosamente Sembraron
    en nuestro ser Ahora
    nosotros les encargamos a
    nuestros hijos Que no
    olviden informar a sus hijos
    Cuan buena será, como se
    levantara Y alcanzara
    fuerza Y cuan bien realizara
    su gran destino Esto
    nuestra amada madre
    tierra Anahuac."

    "Our Sun has gone down
Our Sun has been lost from
view and has left us in
    complete darkness But we
    know it will return again
that it will rise again to light
us anew But while it is
    there in the Mansion of
    Silence Let's join together,
    let's embrace each other
and in the very center of
our being hide all that our
hearts love and we know is
    the Great Treasure. Let us
    hide our Temples our
    schools, our sacred soccer
    game our youth centers our
    houses of flowery song so
    that only our streets
    remain. Our homes will
    enclose us until our New
    Sun rises. Most honorable
    fathers and most honorable
    mothers, may you never
    forget to guide your young
    ones teach your children,
while you live how good it
has been and will be. Until
    now our beloved Anahuac
    sheltered and protected our
    destinies that our ancestors
    and our parents
    enthusiastically received
    and seeded in our being.
    Now we will instruct our
    children how to be good
    They will raise themselves
up and gain strength and as
    goodness make real their
    great destiny in this, our
    beloved mother Anahuac."

    • What happened to the Mexica? The Catholic church created the bloodiest, most horrific organized disaster in human history. Almost nothing was left by the time the church was done. No one who might have been able to recreate any coherent details of the massacre would have opened their mouths about it if they survived. If they had spoken out in any way, they would have been executed. Their families and friends would have been raped and tortured in ways that would fascinate and disgust our modern imaginations. For this reason, much of the history and tradition of the Mexica had to be passed on orally and secretly. The Spanish Conquest reduced the population of Mexico by nine tenths in three to five years. We're not talking about a few scattered tribes' people here. From what we can gather together out of the historical sources, we know that Mexico had a population of millions of the most highly educated and refined people on Earth at that time. - John Mini
